Athletic Training Services
Welcome to the Athletic Training page at the University of Central Missouri. This site is here to provide athletes, parents, and visiting teams with pertinent information about our program. The mission of our program is to provide the most comprehensive health care for our athletes and visitors. That same approach is utilized with the professional development of our athletic training students.
Please note that all new student-athletes/transfers at UCM must have a completed physical before being allowed to participate in any intercollegiate sport. This physical can be taken care of by only our medical staff upon arrival to campus. All returning student-athletes are required to complete an annual health questionnaire form prior to the start of their season. All student-athletes are also required to have a current insurance information form and insurance card on file with the Athletic Training Office.
Changes in NCAA Drug Testing Policies
The NCAA recognizes that some banned substances are used for legitimate medical purposes. Accordingly, the NCAA allows exception to be made for those student-athletes with a documented medical history demonstrating the need for regular use of such a drug. Exceptions may be granted for substances included in the following classes of banned drugs: anabolic agents, stimulants, beta blocker's, diuretics, anti-estrogen's, anabolic steroids*, and peptide hormones.
Please contact the athletic training staff if you are on a medication from above. The athletic training staff will assist you in getting the pre approval from the NCAA.
If at any time, you have a question about something, please feel free to contact one of the full-time staff members.
