Jennies are fifth in the final AVCA D-II Poll of the 2009 season.

The Jennies, who finished the season with a 34-5 record after falling to West Texas A&M in the regional championship match, was the highest ranked team that didn't advance to the Elite Eight. UCM was also one of five MIAA squads ranked in the final poll.

Caitlin Pankratz is a second team All-American selection, and one of three Jennies selected to the 2009 AVCA D-II All-American squad announced Monday.

Rachel Fister and Allie Huffman were honorable mention choices, and all three student-athletes were All-Region as well...More Info »

Allie Huffman and the Jennies see their season end in the regional final.

The Jennies came up short in their bid for a trip to the NCAA-II Championships, falling 3-1 to West Texas A&M in the regional championship final on November 21st at the UCM Multipurpose Building.

The Jennies, who came into the regional as the top seed, saw their season end with a 34-5 record. Jennies Recap »

The Jennies were making their first appearance in a regional championship since 2006, and were after their first regional title since 1996, and their seventh NCAA-II regional championship overall.

Piontek named Coach of the Year, six players honored by MIAA

Flip Piontek has been honored by the MIAA for leading the Jennies to the league title in his first year at the helm of the program, as he was the unanimous selection for the Coach of the Year.

The Jennies pose with the MIAA championship trophy after being presented with hardware on November 17th. The conference title was the first for the Jennies since 2000, and first stand alone title since 1999.

The Jennies finished the regular season with an 18-2 conference mark and an overall record of 32-4. The 32 wins is the most for UCM since 1996.
