Jennies Roll Over Missouri Southern
Carrie Peterson provided the Jennies with key play off the bench against Southwest Baptist
The No. 6 University of Central Missouri Jennies took care of business on Friday night against the Southwest Baptist Lady Bearcats by a 3-0 margin. It was the 46th consecutive win for UCM in the series.
The Jennies (15-1, 2-0 MIAA) led from start to finish in game one, scoring the first five points on the way to a 30-24 win. They got behind early in the second stanza but rebounded quickly and led the rest of the game for a 30-23 margin. The clinching game had three ties but the Jens still outlasted SBU by a 30-26 score.
Caitlin Pankratz dished out 36 assists on the night while three UCM players finished in double-figure kills. Andrea Robertson had 10 while Jillian Ohrman and Amber Yoder had 11 apiece. Ohrman also tallied four aces. The difference in the match proved to be the UCM kill total as it finished with 13 more than the opposition. Audrey Jensen led a stellar Jennies’ defense with an outstanding 31 digs on the night. UCM had 12 more digs than SBU as well.
