Jennies volleyball claims top spot in silver bracket at D-II Challenge

Jillian Ohrman was named the MIAA "Hitter of the Week" for her performance at the D-II Challenge

In game one on Friday against Augustana (S.D.) the Jennies lost 3-0 in three close games, they fell behind early in each of the sets and failed to recover. (28-30, 27-30, 28-30). Central Missouri was led with 10 kills a piece by Jacquelyn Williams and Andrea Robertson. Senior Jillian Ohrman also chipped in 10 kills. Caitlin Pankratz had 40 assists, while Audrey Jensen had 15 digs.

Game two the Jens bounced back with a 3-1 victory over No. 13 Chico State (30-25, 28-30, 30-27, 30-20). Senior Amber Yoder led the way with 21 kills. Ohrman had 19 kills in the contest with Pankratz’ 56 assists. Brooke Butler recorded the first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 10 digs in the match. Jensen led the way in digs with 19.

The Jennies opened up Saturday with a 3-0 win over No.17 Cal State Los Angeles (30-23, 30-17, 30-20). Ohrman led the way with 14 kills in the contest. Pankratz had 32 assists, while Jensen chipped in 15 digs.

Central Missouri finished up the Division II Premier Challenge with a 3-2 win over No. 15 Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (22-30, 32-30, 30-25, 23-30,15-8). Ohrman led the way once again with 17 kills. Andrea Robertson also had 12 for the Jennies in the contest. Pankratz had a double-double with 43 assists and 14 digs for the Jens. Jensen led the way again in digs with 21, while freshman Rachel Fister chipped in 11.
