Jennies Win 10th Straight Match
Jillian Ohrman had 16 kills to pace the Jennies at UMSL
The sixth ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies made it 10 wins in a row on Wednesday night at Missouri-St. Louis as they coasted to another 3-0 match.
UCM (14-1) was tied at five in game one and used a 3-0 run off the serve of Jillian Ohrman to take control and never look back in a 30-20 win. The second game saw the Tritons (5-7) jump ahead by a 20-18 margin and looked to have control before the Jens rallied for another one of their patented runs; this time they scored nine consecutive points off the serve of setter Caitlin Pankratz to make it 27-20. The final game had 10 ties and four lead changes and it was actually tied at 24, but UCM scored the games’ final six points to claim the victory.
Ohrman led the way offensively for UCM, hitting .500 and logging 16 kills. Pankratz dished out 36 assists and Audrey Jensen picked up 26 digs to lead the Jens in those respective categories. The story of the match was the UCM defense. It had 13 blocks while UMSL had only three, leading to 10 more attacking errors for the home squad. The Tritons also had 10 service errors and one ace compared to five aces and four errors for the Jennies.
