Allie Huffman honored as region "Freshman of the Year" and Honorable Mention All-American
Allie Huffman caps her freshman year with regional and national honors
The University of Central Missouri volleyball squad had one of its members named to the AVCA All-American squad and four of its members named to the AVCA All-South Central Region team this week.
Freshman outside hitter Allie Huffman was named AVCA honorable mention All-American and named first-team All-Region, being tabbed “Region Freshman of the Year”. Sophomore libero Rachel Fister, freshman middle hitter Paula Harris and junior setter Caitlin Pankratz were all named to the honorable mention list.
Huffman, in her first season with the Jennies, helped them go 29-10 on the year and also earned second-team All-MIAA honors. She led the team in kills (454), kills per set (3.47), and was third in digs per set (2.82). Huffman was also among the league leaders in points and kills.
