Jennies 2008 season on a winning note
Allie Huffman had a good debut with the Jennies to help them to a season-opening win
The No. 13 Jennies volleyball team opened their final season under head coach Peggy Martin on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory at the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
UCM won 25-17, 25-16, 25-22 in a match that saw no lead changes. The Jennies were led by freshman Allie Huffman’s 14 kills and seven digs. Huffman hit an impressive .542 in the match. Sophomore Rachel Fister recorded a double-double with 12 digs and 10 kills on the evening. Junior Caitlin Pankratz registered a match-high 32 assists. Carrie Peterson also had 10 digs for Central Missouri.
The Jennies out-hit UAA .248 to .062 in the three games. Central Missouri also had the advantage in kills 41 to 29.
