Coach Martin on Jenica Shippy: “Brings much needed depth to the outside hitting position, the weakest position last season, maybe the strongest this season. Outstanding front court skills and above average back court skills. Very polished for an incoming freshman.”
In High School: Another four-time letterman and all-conference pick, Shippy played for head coach Casey King at Pueblo West High School… She was also a three-time selection to the all-state squad and helped her squad to three consecutive league titles and a couple district championships… as a senior, she helped the team qualify for state and she also played in the Colorado All-State Games… Shippy has established herself as a standout beach volleyball player as well, finishing first in the Vail King of the Mountain, fifth at the Junior Olympics of Beach Volleyball and as the event champion at the Colorado State Championships… also lettered for the tennis squad three times.
