Coach Martin on Sarah Leonard: “Really needed red-shirt year to "catch-up" with the faster collegiate game. Still catching up and needs more court time to get there. Middle hitter playing behind two established middles. Needs to be patient while getting better at all aspects of her front court game.”
In High School: Leonard earned varsity letters all four years for head coach Mana Mattiace, taking the conference championship every season. She was first-team Metro Conference from 2003-2005, second team all-CIML Conference in 2003 and 2004, and first team all-CIML in 2005, not to mention special mention all-state in 2004. Leonard was on the State Girls Coaches Association all-district team in 2004 and 2005 as well. She also lettered in basketball and softball. Personal: Chemistry/Biology major with a 3.76 grade-point average… born June 17, 1988 … daughter of Dan and Dianne Leonard.
