Jeremy Hudson finishes 8th and earns All-American honors at NCAA-II Meet
Jeremy Hudson finished in eighth place to earn All-American honors at the NCAA-II Championship Meet in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Hudson had battled back from an opening round loss on Friday to pick up a pair of wins in wrestleback rounds, earning a spot in the All-American rounds on Saturday. Despite losing both of his matches Saturday, Hudson settled for his eighth place finish at 184 and a season record of 30-18. Hudson and Cody Beck were the only two Mules wrestlers to win in the wrestle-backs after all eight of the UCM qualifiers lost in the opening round Friday. Beck fell one victory shy of securing him an All-American finish when he fell in his second round wrestleback match.

Mules have five honored on NWCA All-Academic Squad

Mules third at NCAA-II Midwest Regional, qualify eight for Nationals
The Mules qualified eight wrestlers for the NCAA-II Championship during action Saturday at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Mules finished third as a team in the regional event, but had the most qualifiers for the national event come out of the regional, and it's the most qualifiers the Mules have had since 2001. In addition, Mules coach Robin Ersland was named the NCAA-II Midwest Regional Coach of the Year.

Mules Wrestling falls short at Central Oklahoma

The Mules gave sixth-ranked Central Oklahoma a battle last Thursday evening, but fell short in dropping a 21-15 dual meet decision in Edmond, Oklahoma. Travis Barbarick (pictured above) recorded a pin for UCM at 174, and Vince Bertucci (157) picked up a decision over the 2007 national runner-up, to highlight the Mules effort. Other winners for UCM were Byron Clark (125) and Cory Bloodgood (141). The Mules, who had defeated Newman University on Wednesday evening in Wichita, Kan., 41-16, finished their dual meet schedule with a

Jeremy Hudson (pictured in action on Saturday) captured the 184 pound championship as Mules wrestling hosted the annual Roger Denker Open on Saturday. In addition to Hudson's championship performance, the Mules had a pair of second place finishes, with Cory Bloodgood at 141 and Cody Beck at 285. Mules win one of three duals
at NWCA National Duals

Cody Beck was the top individual performer for UCM at the NWCA National Duals, winning all three of his matches at 285.
The Mules were eliminated from action at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, this past Saturday as they finished 1-2. The Mules dropped a 37-7 decision to Pitt-Johnstown in their opening dual, but rebounded to defeat Chadron State in the first-round consolation bracket 25-12. The Mules run in the consolation round ended later in the day Saturday with a 25-17 setback to Upper Iowa, and their dual meet record for the season slipped to 2-2.. Mules Recap»
Mules have three place winners at Midwest Classic

Kenzie McClain (pictured above) was the top finisher for the Mules at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Ind., placing fourth in the 149 pound weight class...149 Bracket. Two other Mules, Travis Barbarick at 174 and Jeremy Hudson at 184, finished in seventh place in their weight class. As a team, the Mules finished 13th in the team standings.

Jeremy Hudson, pictured in action from the 2006-2007 season, is the only returning national qualifier for the Mules and the 07-08 campaign. Hudson (184) went 1-2 at the 2007 NCAA-II Championships in Kearney, Neb., and will start the 2007-2008 season ranked 8th in the 184 pound class...More Info »
