Denis Ryzhov went 2-1 and defeated the #4 ranked wrestler in NCAA-II

The 18th-ranked Central Missouri Mules wrestling team went 2-1 at the first ever MIAA duals on Sunday (Feb. 15) afternoon at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The Mules (9-6) defeated Truman State 48-0 and No. 19 Fort Hays State 18-15 before falling to No. 1 Nebraska-Omaha 39-6.

Seniors Grant Baker (133 pounds), Andrew Hicklin (165) and Travis Barbarick (184 pounds) along with sophomores Denis Ryzhov (157 pounds) and Cody Beck (285) all posted 2-1 records on the day for the Mules. Ryzhov recorded UCM’s biggest win of the day when he upset fourth-ranked Danny Grater of Fort Hays State 8-6. Beck sealed the dual win over the Tigers with a late takedown to secure a 3-2 win over Justin Glenn.
