Steve Barrett
Assistant Coach
Stephen Barrett is in his second stint as an assistant coach with the Mules.
A National Champion and three-time All-American at Division I power Oklahoma State, Barrett was the first four-time Big 8 Champion in OSU history. He won the 1980 Olympic Trials tournament at 149.5 pounds and represented the USA in 15
international tournaments, winning eight of them and placing second in five others.
For the past 16 years he and his family have lived in Russia as representatives of Athletes in Action and acted as the liaison between the USA and Russian wrestling federations. He returned to the US in the summer of 2007 and plans to partner with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Missouri. Barrett will work mostly with the Mules middle weights.
