Mules and Jennies compete in
MIAA Championships

Jennies and Mules harriers take 4th and 5th respectively at the 2007 MIAA Championships

The Mules and Jennies cross country squads ran to middle of the pack finishes this weekend at the MIAA Championships at Truman State. The Jens grabbed fourth overall while the Mules took fifth with senior and top runner Adam Akers out due to injury.

The women (6k run) were led by a 12, 13, 14 finish with Sandy Davidson (24:02.06), Dani Wagaman (24:03.65), and Gina Kennison (24:04.39) taking those spots. Other scorers included Brittany Simpkins in 33rd (25:18.93) and Alison Kelley in 47th (26:01.30).

The men (8k run) were paced by Dennis Hill in 14th (27:05.08) while Davis Fuchs (27:40.43) and Anthony Schulz (27:42.63) took 24th and 25th respectively. Other scoring finishers were Kyle McClure in 31st (27:59.04) and Chris Colesworthy in 37th (28:25.36)

The women scored 115 points while Southwest Baptist tallied 102 to take third. The Mules scored 129 points, well behind Emporia State at 95 points in fourth.

Missouri Southern took both the men’s and women’s titles with totals of 40 and 43, respectively.
