Mules and Jennies Cross Country each finish third
at South Central Regional

                The Central Missouri Mules and Jennies cross country teams each came away with third place finishes at the NCAA South Central Regional meet held this past Saturday at Pertle Springs in Warrensburg.
            While the Mules will be making their 12th consecutive trip to the NCAA National meet, the Jennies came up just short, with only the top two teams advancing on the women’s side due to a pre-determined selection before the season started.
            On the men’s side UCM had four runners finish in the top 20 led by Adam Akers, who finished seventh covering the course in 32:11.70, Joe Mundt finished 14th with a time of 32.39.70, Dennis Hill and David Fuchs came in 18th and 19th respectively with times of 32:55.90 and 33:00.90. Chris Colesworthy rounded out the scoring for Central Missouri finishing 43rd with a time of 34:15.50. Also competing for the Mules were Anthony Schulz recording a time of 34:57.60 to finish 57th and Joe Nagel was 63rd covering the course in 35:02.40. Akers and Mundt each received All-Region honors by finishing in the top 15.
            On the women’s side Central Missouri had three runners place in the top 20 led by Gina Kennison, finishing eighth with a time of 22:28.70, Danielle Nagel was 12th finishing in 22:42.30, Dani Wagaman came in 17th covering the course in 22:56.20, Sandy Davidson and Laura Adams rounded out the scoring for the Jennies by finishing 52nd and 54th respectively with times of 23:52.60 and 23:55.60. Alison Kelley finished 55th completing the course in 24:01.60 and Jillian Doddema came in 73rd with a time of 24:36.30. Kennison and Nagel were the Jennies selections to the All-Region squad.
