Ms. Leslie Bilbrey was raised in Missouri and completed both her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Biology at the University of Central Missouri. She worked for the Student Conservation Association in Great Smoky Mountains National Park in 2006. Before becoming an instructor at UCM, she was a Project Biologist/Wildlife Specialist for an environmental consulting firm in the mountains of western North Carolina. Ms. Bilbrey has attended several professional workshops including wetland delineation and stream restoration workshops. As a consultant, she worked on a large variety of projects including floral and faunal surveys, NEPA documentation, wetland delineation, and restoration monitoring.
Research interests include community ecology and anthropogenic influences. She currently teaches general education courses, Introduction to Ecology (Biol 1003 and 1004).
Non-academic interests include photography, birding, hiking, camping, gardening, biking, and boating. She also enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew and listening to live music.
