LGBTQ Panel Discussion: From the Classroom to the Locker Room

Date and time: Sunday, 4/6/2014
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Union 238
Description: Join faculty, staff, and students from UCM on April 3rd in Union 238 from 3:30 to 5:00 for a discussion on LGBTQ issues. With Michael Sam poised to be the first professional football player to be openly gay in the NFL, and at the same time, legislation being brought forward in several states, which would allow owners to refuse service to members of the LGBTQ community, inclusion is an important issue nationwide and on our campus. The panel's goal is to broaden students' perspectives on these issues through various lenses, including the media, sports, and civil rights and social justice.
