Recognizing Student Employee Contributions

UCM Student Employee of the YEAR (SEOTY) Nomination Process

Each year, the National Student Employment Association (NSEA) declares a full week in April to be National Student Employment Week.

The Office of Career Services at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) is a member of NSEA.  Here at UCM, over 1,000 students are employed by the university, playing a key role in our educational and operational excellence.

Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. At the same time, they develop important skills and experience that will assist them in their future careers.

The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college.

To be considered for this award, students must have been employed a minimum of 3 months full time or 6 months part-time. This may include students working off campus in community service or tutoring programs.

Students will be evaluated on the following qualities:

  1. Reliability
  2. Quality of Work
  3. Professionalism
  4. Initiative
  5. Uniqueness of Contribution to a Department/Office at the University.

The UCM Student Employee of the Year is selected by a committee comprised of the Gateway Center, Human Resources, Payroll and Student Financial Services.
