Collaborative Principal Preparation Program

UCM is teaming up with 14 school districts to provide the Collaborative Principle Preparation Program. This six-semester program will result in an M.S.E. or Ed.S. in School Administration. This program prepares students for administrative positions by providing the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to feel confident to move into administration.

The unique features of this program include:

  • All coursework in the Kansas City area
  • Strong focus on instructional leadership
  • A balance between theory and practice
  • Additional field experiences
  • Ongoing support from districts and UCM
  • Students working with a mentor throughout the six-semester program

Procedures

  • Candidates' names must be submitted to UCM by March 31, 2009
  • Candidates must commit to the program and apply for admission to UCM Graduate School
  • The cohort will be established in April 2009, with classes beginning in fall 2009
  • During fall and spring semesters students will take two courses per semester, one night per week
  • Students will complete coursework in summer 2011
