Kelly Burgess, middle school education major
UCM got me into the classroom really early in my college career. I was able to gain real classroom and teaching experience versus just learning through lecture.
Becoming an Orientation and Week of Welcome leader has been my best experience at UCM. Introducing incoming freshman and their families to the UCM experience is such a rewarding job. I’m able to meet outstanding people, use my talents and share them with others. It gave me an opportunity to get involved outside the classroom.
Reasons to choose
I originally picked UCM because of the education program and the scholarship opportunities it provided me. Once I visited, I fell in love with the beautiful campus and friendly atmosphere.
Going above and beyond
My relationships with faculty have helped me way beyond the classroom. I’m able to use the relationships I build with my professors to help with scholarships, advice and job searching. They’re always willing to go above and beyond to help me succeed.
