Technology Research and Innovation
Technology Research and Innovation (TRI) identifies and evaluates emerging technologies and related practices that support teaching and learning.
TRI facilitates its mission through conducting workshops, focus groups, surveys and activities related to emerging educational technologies. The unit serves as a source of information on trends, research, applications and effective practices. The unit also provides leadership and hands-on management in the strategic adoption and use of educational technologies for teaching online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced courses.
Through researching new and emerging instructional technologies and assisting with the selection and implementation of appropriate technologies, TRI recommends policies, procedures and projects that reflect emerging technology best practices.
TRI manages and maintains two multi-media classrooms for faculty and staff training and use -- a Windows OS teaching lab and a dual-boot Mac/Windows teaching lab. In addition, there is a research and development lab, isolated from the main University network, where faculty and staff can test and experiment with new software and peripherals without placing the university infrastructure at risk.
