Deadline for nominations is March 1 of each year.
Each academic year, the College of Health, Science, and Technology will recognize individual performance in the following categories:
The Excellence in Teaching, Scholarship/Creative Activity, and Service Awards recognize accomplishments during the past three calendar years. The Excellence in Performance-Staff Award recognizes accomplishments over the past three academic years. The Distinguished Service Award may extend over a period of time.
If appropriate, faculty may be nominated for one or multiple categories. If an individual is nominated for more than one category, a separate nomination document must accompany each category nomination. Past recipients are not eligible for nomination for three years.
Procedures for Submitting Nominations
A. All full time faculty members and staff may be nominated for a designated award. Each departmentmay select a department faculty/staff/distinguished member to be nominated from nominations it receives from within or outside the department. Self nominations are not acceptable.
B. The department chair or supervisor will inform the nominee that he/she has been nominated. If the nominee accepts the nomination, he/she may then compile a nomination document indicating the extent and significance of her/his accomplishments. The document must adhere to the guidelines for the relevant award.
C. The nomination document must be uploaded to the CHST Awards Google Drive folder by March 1.
D. The College Awards Committee will review all nominations based on the materials received and make recommendations to the Dean no later than March 15.
E. Each faculty/staff member selected will receive amonetary award to be used for professional development. In addition, an engraved plaque will be awarded during the department’s award recognition. Distinguished Service Honoree(s) will receive an engraved plaque and be recognized at the appropriate department’s award recognition.
