UCM Students recognized with top honors at PBL National Conference

The Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference was held in Anaheim, CA, June 20-23, 2009, with over 1770 students and advisers attending nationwide. Several PBL members from the University of Central Missouri participated in the national competition. They attended with their local PBL adviser, Jan Wiggins, and Graduate Assistant, Joseph Kyser.

Several UCM students were recognized at the Awards of Excellence Program.  Jake LaCombe placed first in Parliamentary Procedures Team (with Truman State and Evangel College) and seventh place in Statistical Analysis.  Curtis Hartley placed ninth in Business Law. Julie Kidwell placed ninth in Future Business Teacher. Tim Rost placed tenth in Accounting for Professionals

Phi Beta Lambda is an educational association of postsecondary student members preparing for careers in business.  There are over 11,000 active members in the US.  Missouri has approximately 500 members in 30 colleges and universities across the state.
