Quality Matters

Preparing Future CTE Teachers

There is a shortage of career and technology education teachers in the U.S. A quality education for the next generation will assure our country has a strong workforce ready to solve the challenges of the 21st century. The University of Central Missouri is a leader in preparing CTE teachers as the only dedicated program and department in the state of Missouri.

By combining your interests in teaching with these specific content areas you get the best of both worlds. Enjoy business, marketing, or computer classes but worried about finding a job? Then become a business teacher. Enjoy cooking, textiles, or health? Then become a family consumer science teacher. Enjoy electronics, computer graphics, or working with woods and metals? Then become an engineering and technology teacher. Students need good teachers to prepare them for the future.

Certification areas include business teacher education, family consumer sciences teacher education, and engineering and technology teacher education.
