Faculty Travel

Application for Faculty Travel Grant

The Center for Teaching and Learning funds two types of travel grants for faculty.  These grants are specifically intended to support travel in areas not covered by the Scholarly Activity Fund(x23435.xml), the Faculty Senate Professional Enhancement Committee Mini-Grants(x8199.xml) or the International Travel Fund.  Previously faculty were allowed to apply for all of these grants in conjunction with a travel grant from the CTL which, although it minimized any out-of pocket expense for any particular faculty member, did not spread limited funds across the University to help support travel for a larger number of faculty.

Technology Travel Grants

The Center for Teaching and Learning has funds available for faculty travel to technology workshops.  Awards are limited to $500 and will be based upon applications describing how the technology training will support the statewide mission in professional technology and indicating how the information gained will be shared with the university community.

Teaching Development Grants

The Center for Teaching and Learning also has funds available for faculty travel to workshops and conferences specifically focused on the scholarship of teaching and learning.  Awards are limited to $500 and will be based upon applications describing how sessions from the proposed workshop/conference will be applied to the faculty member's teaching.

Requirements

Funding will be considered for only two Central Missouri faculty members per workshop/conference and will not be considered for faculty who are also presenting at the workshop/conference. CTL travel funding is available only to faculty employed full time, faculty members classified temporary, adjunct, Graduate Student, or Teacher's Aide are not eligible. Applications must be submitted to the Center for Teaching and Learning at Dockery 212 prior to travel and should include a copy of the brochure, registration form, or an agenda that includes a description of the training and the registration cost.
