You Can Change Your Default

Did you know that you can change your default reply option to either reply just to the sender, or reply to all recipients of the message? You can do this by going into Google Mail Settings-->General (tab)-->Default reply behavior, and choosing "reply" or "reply to all." This changes the button displayed in the right corner of an opened email to either Reply or Reply to All depending on the selection made.

The choice is up to you, but to avoid replying to more individuals than you intend, you might want to default to "reply." If the original message has more than one recipient, you can choose "reply to all" by clicking on the drop down arrow next to the reply button.
