Blackboard Learn upgrade and maintenance to occur after Fall semester.

As part of our ongoing effort to keep our Blackboard Learn platform operating efficiently and effectively, our Blackboard Learn platform will be upgraded beginning at 1:30 p.m. CST, Tuesday, December 18, 2012. We have scheduled this upgrade to occur after the "grades due" deadline for Fall Semester. Bb Learn will move from Version 9.1, Service Pack 9 to Version 9.1, Service Pack 10 (SP 10).

The course interface will have some new functionality available to instructors, yet does not change in the look and way you manage your course. The only real change comes from the new SP 10 Global Navigation area located on the main screen when you first log in to Blackboard.

Again, the upgrade will begin at 1:30 p.m., CST on Tuesday, December 18. We anticipate the upgrade and testing to last until Noon on the 19th. During this upgrade, Blackboard will be unavailable for use. Then there will be a maintenance window beginning the evening of the 19th/20th beginning at 12:01a.m. on Thursday the 20th. This maintenance window will last 12 - 18 hours. Blackboard will again be unavailable during this maintenance window.

In order to help you understand the new features that will now be available in 9.1, SP 10 we are offering a number of "What's New in Blackboard SP 10" sessions prior to Holiday break. All sessions will be held in Dockery 203 and last one hour. We ask that you browse to http://www.ucmo.edu/calendar to register for a session. Those dates and times are:

Friday, 12/07, 2:00 p.m.

Monday, 12/10, 11:00 a.m.

Thursday, 12/13, 3:00 p.m.

Monday, 12/17, 9:00 a.m.

There will be additional "What's New in Blackboard SP10" sessions scheduled after the first of the year.
