Flu Vaccine Still Available and Recommended for Campus Community

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) weekly indicators show that Missouri continues to have widespread influenza cases. This high rate is expected to last at least two more weeks before gradually tapering off. Populations most effected are young adults who have not previously had the flu or who have not been previously immunized. If you have not received a flu vaccine this year it is recommended that you do so now. The vaccine covers influenza A, B, and H1N1, all three are currently active. Flu vaccine is available at the University Health Center and at Walgreens in Warrensburg. You may come to the Health Center between 8 and 9 a.m. Monday through Friday without an appointment to receive the vaccine. Most insurance companies cover the vaccine, please bring your insurance card.

UCM's annual campus Flu Vaccine Clinic is held every October before the start of flu season. The flu vaccine lasts for one year. On behalf of the University Health Center, thank you if you have already received the vaccine, and please remember to take advantage of flu vaccinations next fall.
