Tickets Available for Freedom Scholarship Dinner

Tickets are now available for the annual Freedom Scholarship Dinner, the highlight of the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the University of Central Missouri. The Freedom Scholarship Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. in the Elliott Union Ballroom. The 2013 Freedom Scholarship Dinner will feature Douglas Wilder, former Governor of the state of Virginia. A racial milestone was achieved on January 13, 1990 when L. In 1992, Wilder was a candidate for the presidential nomination. The Freedom Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors from the Johnson County Missouri area, the Kansas City metro area and throughout the state of Missouri who plan to attend UCM, as well as current UCM students, enhancing the opportunities for all recipients to continue their college educations. The scholarships are funded through proceeds from tickets sales for the dinner. Individual tickets for the dinner may be purchased at the gold level for $100, the silver level for $75, or the bronze level for $50 by contacting the UCM Office of Community Engagement, Elliott Union 224, at 660-543-4156.
