Call for Nominations for UCM Student Employee of the Year!

The National Student Employment Association (NSEA) designates one week each year for universities and colleges across the country to recognize the substantial contributions of students who work on campus. Here at UCM, over 1,000 students are employed by the university, playing a key role in our educational and operational excellence. Student employees perform invaluable services with enthusiasm, dedication, and initiative. At the same time, they develop important skills and experience that will assist them in their future careers.

This year, the Career Services Center will host the 3rd Annual Student Employee of the Year Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending college. To be considered for this award, students must have been employed a minimum of 3 months full time or 6 months part-time between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. This may include students working off campus in community service or tutoring programs. Graduate assistants and teaching assistants are not eligible. Supervisors wanting to nominate a student employee must complete the nomination form and submit a letter at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/kabwz7a

Students will be evaluated on the following qualities: Reliability, Quality of Work, Professionalism, Initiative, Uniqueness of Contribution to a Department/Office at the University. Nominations are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17th. Only one nomination from each office/department will be considered for each student. Once the committee makes their decision on the UCM winners, a nomination form and letter will be forwarded to the Midwest Association of Student Employment regional chair to be considered for the state, regional, and national awards.

Awards will be as follows: $500 for 1st place $250 for 2nd place $100 for 3rd place

Please take time to recognize an outstanding student employee! The winners will be honored at a reception on Wednesday, April 16th at 3:00 p.m. during National Student Employment Week.
