Habitat for Humanity to Host 5K Fundraiser to Support Johnson County Builds WARRENSBURG, MO (August 7, 2013) â€“ Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County will host its inaugural 5K Home Run and Hog Roast fundraiser at the Johnson County Courthouse Saturday, Sept. 14. All proceeds from the Home Run and Hog Roast will support future builds in the community. The run will start from the courthouse at 5 p.m. Food will be served and a DJ will play music from 6-8 p.m. Tickets for the run, which include participation, the meal and a T-shirt, are $35 when purchased in advance or $40 on the day of the race. Tickets for just the hog roast are $8 per person in advance or $10 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased online at habitatjoco.org or at one of the Reece and Nichols locations in Warrensburg or Knob Noster, Mo. â€œWe wanted to hold an event that would engage the entire community and raise funds for our builds,â€쳌 said Spenser Hicks, Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County president. â€œItâ€™ll be a fun event for a great cause with good food and good music.â€쳌 Habitat for Humanity is seeking business partners for the run.
