Creating a Moment of Joy
For family members of those with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, communication can be very challenging. Many times we are at a loss about how to interact with those with altered mental abilities.
Sponsored by Community Care and Crossroads Hospice, this free event will focus on the positive side of communicating with people who have Alzheimer's and dementia. Informative and uplifting, the session will provide easy-to-implement tips to trigger moments of joy for yourself and for your loved one, as well as strategies to help with challenging behaviors by practicing being in the moment.
Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Old Drum Coffeehouse and Bakery, 211 N. Holden St. in downtown Warrensburg. Light refreshments provided.
Space is limited; please RSVP to Tonya Patrick, Operations and Care Manager at Community Care: firstname.lastname@example.org or 660-225-1858.
Community Care, the area's newest in-home care company, is currently housed in the StartUp Center, part of UCM's Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise program: http://www.ucmo.edu/ese/home.html.
