Best Year in 32 Year History of UCM Police Academy Graduates
We are proud to announce that 85% of 2012 UCM Police Academy graduates have been commissioned (hired) as Police Officers, Deputy Sheriffs and State Investigators. This was the best year in our 32 year history!
Since 1981, UCM's police academy (CMPA) has graduated hundreds of Missouri Peace Officers who have served across Missouri and the United States. 2012 graduates are now working as Police Officers and Deputy Sheriffs from the Kansas City area to Hannibal, MO and down to Benton County (Arkansas). Half of the current class have already been hired or are finishing their hiring process. UCM's CMPA is becoming the police academy of choice for several agencies and recruiters from eleven agencies have visited recent classes to directly recruit our Cadets. The police academy course provides 15 elective credit hours and many of our Cadets, while not directly seeking employment, are using our course to enhance their degree programs.
