Prescription Drug Take Back Oct. 26
Addressing a vital public safety, health and environmental issue, the Warrensburg Police Department and the Johnson County Juvenile Office will work in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to sponsor a Prescription Take Back Program Saturday, Oct. 26. Individuals who have unwanted or old prescription medications are encouraged to bring them to BiLo Country Mart, 410 E. Young St., Warrensburg, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a free and anonymous service, and will help individuals avoid potential hazards posed by common disposal methods such as throwing discarded medications in the trash or flushing them down a drain or toilet. The news release provided below provides more information about common problems associated with traditional disposal techniques and why the Prescription Take Back Program is needed.
