Media Coverage - President Obama's Visit
In a history-making event, President Barack Obama became the first sitting president to speak on the University of Central Missouri's campus. He recognized UCM for its future-focused Missouri Innovation Campus, which prepares students for in-demand careers in less time with no debt. "I want the entire country to notice it, and I want other colleges to take a look at what's being done here," President Obama said during his speech. In the days prior to and following the speech, hundreds of media outlets covered the President's visit and shared with millions of people the reason he chose to deliver the speech at UCM. I invite you to view some of the highlights of the press coverage.
With this recognition, UCM has become part of a national conversation about college completion and affordability. I hope that many of you were here to be a part of this historical day. Your support of education, engagement with our students, and willingness to participate made the day very special. I look forward to working with you as we stay focused on student success and help meet the challenges outlined to us by the President last week.
