Distinguished Alumni have Arrived!

UCM is honored to welcome the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients to campus for Homecoming week. The Distinguished Alumni Award recipients include Brigadier General Arnold Neil Gordon-Bray and Glenn D. Chambers. This year’s International Distinguished Alumni Award recipient is Dr.Immanuel Barshi; and the first Distinguished Alumni Award for Service recipient is Mr. Dale Carder.

Brigadier General Arnold Neil Gordon-Bray graduated from UCM in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Art. He currently is deputy director of operations for the US Africa Command in Stuttgart, Germany. He will be speaking to the fourth year military science cadets on Thursday morning and will receive a tour of the Art department in the afternoon.

Glenn D. Chambers graduated from UCM in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He has been traveling the globe as a wildlife biologist, filmmaker and photographer. Dr. Chambers will be sharing his experience with students Thursday morning with the Intro to Imprinting seminar, and on Friday morning with a professional photography class.

Dr. Immanuel Barshi is the 2012 International Distinguished Alumni Award Recipient. He graduated from UCM with two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology in 1987, and a Master of Arts in English in 1988. He currently is a senior principal investigator in the Human Systems Integration Division at NASA Research Center. He will visit safety classes on Thursday morning, a system of psychology class on Thursday afternoon, and will share an aviation presentation on Friday morning.

Mr. Dale Carder is the first recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award for Service. He graduated from UCM with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1972. Now retired from UCM, Carder is currently the president of Carder Group LLC, where he offers his knowledge to higher education institutions while still serving the university. He will visit two integrative marketing communication classes Thursday morning.
