Free RAD Basic Self Defense Course for Women
The University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety is sponsoring a R.A.D. Basic Self Defense for Women course. The dates and times for the course are October 15th, 22nd and 29th fom 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM each night. All sessions are held at the Central Missouri Police Academy at 200 Ming Street. Attendance at all three sessions is required. R.A.D. is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. R.A.D. is not a martial arts course. R.A.D. is instructed by UCM Department of Public Safety Officers and is provided at no charge. The course is open to all UCM students, faculty, staff and their dependants. Members of the general public are also invited to register for the class. All participants completing the course receive a free UCM RAD T-Shirt. For more information about the course or to register, please email Sgt.
