Blackboard Courses Loaded

The Summer, '14 and Fall, '14 semester sections have now been loaded in Blackboard with the exception of Fall, '14 semester on-line courses (see important announcement below). Student enrollment for Summer sections will be loaded two weeks prior to the beginning of the first Summer session.

You can identify the Summer sections by their Course ID which starts with 201430. 2014 = Year ending, 30 = Summer

You can identify the Fall sections by their Course ID which starts with 201510. 2015 = Year ending, 10 = Fall

All instructor assignments, as entered into Banner, have been pushed to Blackboard as well. If you do not see a section in your Blackboard account that you think should be there, please check first to make sure your Banner assignments are correct. If you have any questions or need help, you can always contact us at the number below.

The issue with course copy still exists and we are still asking faculty suspend the use of course copy. Instructions for exporting and importing Bb sections for content re-use can be found here:

Important announcement for Fall, '14 online courses -

With the advent of the new Enrollment Validation Procedure (EVP) for on-line courses, we are delaying the push of the Fall '14 on-line sections until the middle of the Summer when we will be able to automatically push the EVP tool into all on-line sections (eliminating the need for faculty to do so).

In order to add the tool automatically, we must add this tool at course creation and therefore need to wait until our SIS Integration Framework is in place to create on-line courses for Fall, '14.

However, to accommodate those of you who wish to begin developing your Fall on-line section, we have created a development section for you to do so. That section has a CourseID that begins with 10201510. You will be assigned as an instructor to the section just like the official course.

What this means for you? If you begin developing your Fall on-line sections now, you will use the development section assigned to you. Then, when the official section is created later this summer, you will export / import the development section into the official section.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Technology Support Center at 660-543-4357and they will direct your call to the appropriate person.
