Knoxville: Summer of 1915 concert TONIGHT
Guest pianist Grant Wenaus (New York University) joins UCM Faculty Dr. Stella Roden, Dr. Mia Hynes, and Dr. Sheri Mattson for a free concert featuring Samuel Barber's masterpiece "Knoxville: Summer of 1915" (text by James Agee). Other musical works on the program include a set of dances by Barber, sonatas for oboe and piano, and for piano, four-hands by Francis Poulenc, and a set of excerpts from the Brahms Liebeslieder waltzes, reimagined for two pianists, soprano, and english horn. The concert takes place on Monday, October 14 at 7:30pm in Hart Recital Hall. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
