On Show-Me Ag this month...
Missouri and the states here in the world's breadbasket are experiencing record crops as elevators and grain bins are bursting, But right down the road may be crushing poverty and severe issues of hunger and food scarcity. Many families are feeling the pinch of declining government assistance and depend on local food pantries for help. A new program sponsored by some big names in agriculture can help bridge the gap between farm surplus and hungry people.
Joining Kyle in the studio is Theresa Spaedy of The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri.
We also visit Moberly, MO where the Cherith Brook Food Pantry is helping its community by providing food to individuals and families in need.
Show-Me Ag airs on the third Thursday of every month at 8:30 p.m., and again on the following Sunday @ 6:30 p.m.
