Discontinuation of Windows XP Support
Microsoft is discontinuing support for the Windows XP operating system in April, 2014. The Office of Technology is actively working with the few remaining users on campus that use the Windows XP operating system to migrate them to a new operating system or provide another solution for their needs.
However, we know that many offices have computers that are not connected to our network, and we know that a number of these have the Windows XP operating system. If you are actively using a Windows XP machine and have not been in contact with Office of Technology technicians yet, please contact the Technology Support Center to schedule a consultation with a technician. If you are using Windows XP because you have an application that requires Windows XP and is not compatible with another operating system, please mention that when you talk to the TSC.
If you have Windows XP computers in storage in your office, please do not attach them to the UCM network. Instead, fill out a Surplus Equipment Form (found at the link included below) and contact the Technology Support Center for a surplus computer pick-up.
If you have any questions about your operating system, please contact the Technology Support Center.
