"My Dream Cain": A Solo Exhibit by Sarah Nguyen
In this series of paintings, Sarah Nguyen explores the blurring of identity that takes place within the family “clan,â€쳌 and the fragmentation we experience as we separate from the dyad or triad of the sibling structure, into the presumed destination of every self in Western society—individuality.
By dissolving the human form in her paintings, she reflects the dissolving of boundaries between dreams and waking life, and between self and other, that we experience when engaged in universal human activities such as play, ritual, and art.
The opening will take place at 4pm in Gallery 115, in the Art Center building.
