David Halen returns to UCM
UCM Distinguished Alumnus and St. Louis Symphony Concertmaster David Halen returns to the Hart Recital Hall stage with pianist Valentina Igoshina for a recital on Tuesday, October 9 at 7:30pm. Ms. Igoshina is a laureate of several prestigious international piano competitions and performed extensively in Europe and South America. Mr. Halen grew up in Warrensburg and graduated from UCM after studying with his father, the late Walter Halen. In addition to his St. Louis duties, he serves as the concertmaster of the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra, artistic director of two festivals in Missouri (Boonville River Festival of the Arts and Innsbrook Music Festival) and has recently joined the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Music.
The program will consist of piano compositions by Frederic Chopin and then the ultra-romantic Sonata for Violin and Piano by Cesar Franck.
The concert (and reception that will follow) are free and the public is invited to attend.
