Aviation Youth Summer Camp
The Aviation Youth Summer Camp (AYSC) provides an opportunity for high school students to:
• experience student life by touring campus and eating in the residence hall;
• provide a chance to hear from current students about the college experience;
• provide information about college application processes and academic fields of study;
• introduce students to key UCM personnel;
• establish an ongoing connection to UCM.
The AYSC is a one-week summer camp focused on introducing multicultural and underrepresented students to the field of aviation, primarily through hands-on activities and exposure to aeronautical science and flight experience. Aviation Youth Summer Camp is a residential camp taught by UCM aviation faculty and certified flight instructors. Each student leaves the camp wih information pertaining to what is recommended for a high school curriculum to prepare for an aviation major at the college level, as well as infomation on the application process for college, scholarships and financial aid.
