I believe all children can and do learn through play. Children deserve a nurturing, respectful atmosphere of congeniality in such a troublesome world. They need kindness, appropriate touch, gentle persuasion and knowing that it’s alright to make a mistake. They need hugs. Children need excellent role models who exemplify truth, right from wrong, and solid values. They need role models with strict codes of ethics and righteous morals. My research interests lie mostly in the emotional welfare of young children involving poverty, addictive behaviors, and the appropriate nurture of infants.
After completing military service in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam War, I worked full-time and attended college to complete my degree. I am the father of six children: Michayla, a high school senior; Kevin, attending UCM on a wrestling scholarship; Casey, 21, married and mom to son Kyle; John, a US Army Ranger; Ashley attends SUNY Cortland; Rick, a Marine and computer Security Specialist in San Diego with his wife, Wanda, and son, Jace. We are active in our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoy serving the community in which we live. I enjoy riding my Harley, fishing, hunting, reading, and writing. I am now enjoying my new grandson Kyle.
