TESOL Student Chapter
The TESOL Student Chapter is the graduate student organization for MATESL students. The group, which is open to all MA students, organizes a variety of social and academic activities throughout the year and has been quite active over time.
This semester the officers organized a trip for students to attend the Iowa Conference on Language and Culture and requested and received funds from the GSA to assist those students who attended.
In the most recent update posted to the student email list, additional activities include:
Feb. 21 - Meeting at Heroes or Fitter's downtown at 5:30 p.m. to have a discussion about people's experiences at the Iowa Culture and Language
March 25 - Celebrational pot luck, more information about time/place to come
April 29 - TESL end-of-the-year BBQ and picnic to celebrate graduates and end of the year
We have at least one event each month, but are working on more events like taking a trip to a museum or a soccer game.
