Pleiades publishes fiction, poetry, essays, and reviews by authors from around the world. Past issues have featured brand new work by Joyce Carol Oates, D. A. Powell, Mark Halliday, James Richardson, Sherman Alexie, Chris Offutt, and Jean Valentine. Recent work from Pleiades has been reprinted in Best American Poetry and the Pushcart Prize anthologies, among others.
In addition, Pleiades Press and Winthrop University publish one full-length poetry collection each year as part of the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Series. Submissions to the magazine are considered year-round. Book manuscripts are selected through the Lena-Miles Wever Todd Poetry Series Competition.
For 2008-2010, the editors can only read manuscript submissions to the magazine from September 30-April 31. Manuscripts sent during the summer months will be held until the fall.
