Philopsophy Newsletter

Special Edition, Spring 2007

The Electronic Newsletter of the Philosophy Program at The University of Central Missouri
Welcome
Wal-Mart in Warrensburg

Welcome

Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends of the UCM Philosophy Program,

We hope you enjoy this Special Issue of Philosophy E-news, a periodic online newsletter published by the Philosophy Program at University of Central Missouri. The newsletter provides announcements, news, discussion topics, research, and web-based resources for current and prospective philosophy majors and minors, university colleagues, and all those interested in the study of philosophy.

Wal-Mart in Warrensburg

This Special Issue is devoted exclusively to presenting the work done by students in Professor Lewandowski’s PHIL 3600: Philosophy of Social Science. For their final project in the course, the students applied what they had learned to examine the history and socioeconomic effects of Wal-Mart on the Warrensburg community. The result is a fascinating multi-media presentation.

If you have suggestions for future issues of Philosophy E-news, would like to contribute a brief commentary, or perhaps even guest edit a special issue of the newsletter, please contact the Philosophy E-news student editors, Jonathan Cannon (jdcannon@gmail.com) or Joel Toynan (joeldtonyan@gmail.com). And if you have specific questions about studying philosophy, or are thinking about becoming a philosophy major or minor, please contact our Philosophy Program Coordinator, Dr. Lewandowski (lewandowski@ucmo.edu).
