Fashion: Textiles and Clothing in Business
FAME Student-Designed Merchandise
The Fashion and Apparel Merchandising program offers exclusive product for sale. An official copyrighted UCM print was developed by Lauren Riddle (now an alumni) as a class project. This print has been used to create custom UCM silk scarves and ties as well as rayon fashion scarves. These are sold both on campus and in an exclusive online store.
Throughout the curriculum, the process of developing these products from concept through sale is incorporated into coursework to give students real-world experience in all steps in the apparel process. Students come up with new product ideas and research how to manufacture them. They also create promotional materials and plans and sell the items in person at University events. This is a true example of experiential learning and promotes the University’s “Learning to a Greater Degree” mission.
Silk Ties & Scarves $30.00 each
