Show Me Justice Film Festival

The 3rd Annual Show Me Justice Film Festival film submissions are free of charge through our Withoutabox.com site. Submissions are accepted April 1 through July 1, 2012.

ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES:

Feature Films
Feature films, films over 45 minutes, can be documentary, narrative, or experimental. They should address the theme of social justice in some way, though that theme can be interpreted broadly and imaginatively.

Narrative Shorts
Short (less than 45 minutes) films that have a clearly defined narrative flow and follow the conventions of fictional filmmaking (whether the story is based on actual events or not).

Documentary Shorts
Documentary Shorts (under 45 minutes) include films that are based on actual events, persons, locations, etc.

Experimental Shorts
Experimental Shorts (under 45 minutes) encompasses any films that may not fall under the description of documentary or narrative, including music videos.

Animated Shorts

GENERAL RULES:

The filmmaker must secure all rights, licenses, clearances and releases necessary for exhibition.

All categories other than feature films require online screeners for judging. The festival reserves the right to place short film entries in alternative categories than originally submitted in as the judges deem appropriate for the form and content and programming of the festival.

All preview discs and accompanying materials submitted become property of the Show Me Justice Film Festival and will not be returned.

All films and videos must be shipped by July 15, 2012, prepaid and properly packaged and be received at 136 Martin, Univ. of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO 64093.

Agreements: If your film is accepted for screening at Show Me Justice Film Festival, you agree and understand the following:

FORMAT: The filmmaker agrees to provide the festival a copy of the film on the format that he or she has indicated on the entry form.

SHIPPING: The filmmaker is responsible for the arrangements and cost of shipping the screening copy to the Show Me Justice Film Festival along with press kit materials.

PUBLICITY: Upon request, the filmmaker will supply the festival with stills and other press materials. In addition, the filmmaker should be available for interviews prior to and during the festival.

LOSS & DAMAGE: Every precaution will be taken to safeguard films, videos, and publicity materials while they are in the possession of the festival. However, if loss or damage occurs, the festival cannot accept or assume responsibility.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

RIGHTS and CLEARANCES:

The undersigned represents and warrants to the Show Me Justice Film Festival that I /we: own all proprietary rights to the film(s) submitted; have secured all rights, clearances, licenses and releases necessary for exhibition or broadcast of the work, so that the festival sponsors or its representatives will not be obligated to make any payment to any third party; and that the exhibition or broadcast will not infringe or violate any rights of any firm, person, or corporation.

The undersigned shall indemnify, defend, and hold the Show Me Justice Film Festival and its representatives harmless from any and all claims, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any breach of these representations, or arising out of any matter contained in the tape/film or otherwise by the festival’s use of the tape/film.

The undersigned hereby grants to the Show Me Justice Film Festival all the rights to exhibit the work, including but not limited to, the right to excerpt clips, and make, have made, and own copies.
