Meet Gary Ervin
Gary Ervin, Sturgis, Ky., formed Ervin Cable Construction in 1985 and is currently president. He has been involved with cable television franchises since 1980. In addition to Ervin Cable, Gary formed Apex Digital, Inc., in 1997, which became the primary satellite dish installer for Primestar, later acquired by DirecTV. In 1999, Gary also formed Lightwave Management, a holding company that manages multiple business entities that are involved in farming, forestry, oil and gas, and telecom holdings.
Gary was a four-year varsity letterman on the Mules wrestling team. In 2010, Gary and his daughter, Mallory, participated in the 17th season of the "Amazing Race," finishing sixth out of 11 teams. (Read about their experience in the "Today" magazine.) They returned for the show's 18th season and finished third.
Gary and his wife, Lisa, have four children: Mallory, Jade, Luke and Gabriel.
